Classes Delayed Monday, January 28th, 2013

Due to icy road conditions, classes will be delayed by two hours on Monday, January 28th. Classes will take place on the following schedule.

10:00 - 11:30	Grammar, Listening and Speaking
11:40 - 1:10	Reading and Writing
1:20 - 2:00	Elective
2:10 - 4:00	Grammar, Listening and Speaking
4:10 - 6:00	Reading and Writing

Students are asked to review the guidelines for inclement weather posted below and to the right. Staff and faculty are expected to report normally for work, personal circumstances permitting.

PRECAUTIONS FOR WINTER WEATHER

Cold weather, snow and ice are normal for Virginia in the winter months, but can be dangerous without preparation.

Dress warmly.
Make sure you have a flashlight, candles and plenty of blankets at home in case you lose power.
Keep at least three days of food on-hand. If we have a large snowstorm, shops may be closed and/or it may be difficult to travel.

Do not use kerosene heaters indoors; carbon monoxide released by kerosene heaters can cause death.
Take a bus to classes. Driving can be dangerous, especially if you are not used to winter conditions.
Parking can also be difficult when there is too much snow on the ground.
Do not stay in your home if you have no heat. If you lose power at home, you may want to stay with friends or in a hotel.
Stay in touch with classmates.
