New Guidelines for Weather Postings

Dear students and VTLCI employees,
Please be advised that the institute has adopted normal university procedures and guidelines for weather-related delays, closings and announcements.  Announcements as to Virginia Tech closings and delays are disseminated through normal channels, such as the VT Alerts, TV and radio, etc.  Students and employees are strongly encouraged to register for VT Alerts on the VT website at http://www.alerts.vt.edu/.

VTLCI Employees:  In the event of inclement weather, and in the absence of a university-wide announcement, all instructors, staff and faculty administrators are expected to report for regular work hours.  For further weather-related work guidelines, please consult the following resources on the Virginia Tech Authorized Closings/Inclement Weather website.  For further details on reporting expectations in the event of a weather-related absence, employees should consult their immediate supervisors.

Classes Delayed Monday, January 28th, 2013

Due to icy road conditions, classes will be delayed by two hours on Monday, January 28th. Classes will take place on the following schedule.

10:00 - 11:30	Grammar, Listening and Speaking
11:40 - 1:10	Reading and Writing
1:20 - 2:00	Elective
2:10 - 4:00	Grammar, Listening and Speaking
4:10 - 6:00	Reading and Writing

Students are asked to review the guidelines for inclement weather posted below and to the right. Staff and faculty are expected to report normally for work, personal circumstances permitting.

Afternoon Classes Cancelled Friday, January 25

VTLCI classes are canceled for the afternoon of Friday, January 25, due to the snow storm and cold temperatures. All staff and faculty administrators are expected to report for regular work hours unless the university closes or delays opening. Note that even if VTLCI classes are cancelled, employees are expected to report to work their normal schedules unless the university closes. VTLCI classes are canceled for the afternoon today, October 4th, 2012, due to a power outage in our area. We are hoping to have power restored sometime today. If no announcement is posted tomorrow, we will be open.
